There are many causes that are very important for us, it may be the rights of the child, women’s rights, environmental causes and animal rights. No matter what the interest is primarily in connection with commitment and heart you have. To a cause or a group, many of us give money or volunteer to do, from time to time. However, the most important element for our cause or organizations is that funds are essential to move forward with this important work. How, then, means and also spreading the message about the cause that we are again? Sales of custom bracelets are a good way to earn money and happiness in a system in which all members of the United Nations can play a role, by some support.

For starters, his group has a lot of money for the design of bracelets that you want. A large number of manufacturers, the bracelets with different models and techniques. They also offer deep discounts and other offers. For example, the price of each bracelet falls, if the increase in the number of applications bracelet. Therefore, the more bracelets you request more money they put aside! For this reason, once he decides on the amount of bracelets, it is time to choose the plan. Choose a color depending on interest. For example, when it comes to cancer, the selection of yellow. When it comes to Fight AIDS, the selection of red, if breast cancer and then rose. The rights of homosexuals are symbolized by the rainbow of colors, blue for animal rights, etc. Make sure that tapes to a message for them, or at least the name of your company. The message should be short and simple, but memorable, here are some examples, I support the rights of children, the fight against child abuse, we say no to drugs, support for animal rights, cancer awareness, Basta pollution or save the mother Earth.

Please note that the quantity of bracelets for you will depend on the amount of funds needed, and the goal of these groups. Once you have your rubber bracelets, it’s time to read the message and advise people to buy. Take advantage of social networking sites to spread the word, in a public statement since Ruffles around their town, city hall, schools, universities, etc., inviting their friends to always wear bracelets that you do not know who might be interested. If you have a website, talking about the band bracelets and fundraising occurs. Since rubber bracelets are considered style, it is quite right that would be sold like hot cakes and youth worship!

Missing girl is found – thanks to you

JOHANNESBURG - Missing Elske Roux was safely reunited with her family yesterday – thanks in large part to a flood of tip-offs from Citizen readers.

The Citizen yesterday reported that Elske had disappeared from the Vereeniging Technical College in the company of a young, unidentified man, and Missing Children SA say they were almost immediately flooded with SMSes, emails and offers of help.

Elske and the male suspect were eventually traced to a train station in Pretoria. Police were still questioning him about the incident last night.

Elske’s mother told Missing Children’s Elsa Tzouganatos the girl was still “very shocked”. Her family had taken her for medical tests to determine if she had been given drugs.

Missing Children SA worked closely with police and The Citizen to help find Elske, sending out flyers, e-mails and FaceBook alerts. “We wanted to make sure as many people saw her face as possible,” said Tzouganatos. “We got a lot of tip-offs from people in the Rand area, especially Pretoria and Randfontein – the two were apparently all over the show yesterday.”

New Brighton teen missing since Thursday

When Travon Little left home Thursday morning for school in Manhattan, he was carrying a fistful of quarters.

The 13-year-old's cell phone had broken earlier that week. His mother, Teresa, gave him the coins to make sure the boy could call home if he decided to hang out with friends that afternoon.

But Travon never phoned home that night. He never arrived at his New Brighton doorstep either.

The 5-foot-6, 110-pound, African-American teen has been reported missing since 9:55 a.m. Friday, police said. He was last seen at the 6 subway station at East 77th Street and Lexington Avenue, said his mother.

Travon, who has asthma, was wearing a beige T-shirt, light blue trunk shorts, blue and white Nike sneakers and a black and gray Jansport backpack, she said. Ms. Little is not sure if Travon has an asthma inhaler with him.

"I'm hoping he's at a friend's house," said Ms. Little, as she was preparing to head to Manhattan with a batch of missing child flyers.

Travon had attended Robert Wagner Middle School on 76th Street between Second and Third avenues for two years. He graduated from the eighth-grade the week before last, but was finishing out his last few days of school.

After completing the sixth grade at William Morris Intermediate School in Brighton Heights, Travon transferred to Robert Wagner Middle School because, at the time, his mother was working at a pharmacy only a block away.

She believes he took the 6 train uptown from East 77th Street because a friend of his reported seeing him at the subway station Thursday after school. ¶

Travon did not show up to school Friday morning to pick up his diploma.

Anyone with information about Travon's whereabouts is asked to call the NYPD's 120th Precinct stationhouse at 718-876-8500 or his mother at 646-641-2499 or 646-421-8775.

Missing: Lindsey J. Baum

Missing from McCleary, Washington is ten year old Lindsey J. Baum.

A spokesman with the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s department said that Lindsey J. Baum was last seen leaving a friend’s house Friday night around 9 p.m. in the town of McCleary.

Police told KIRO 7 that Lindsey left the house on Maple Street and failed to show up at her home on Mommsen Rd, just 5 blocks away. Police said that Lindsey is 4 feet 9 inches tall, weighs 80 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes. Her mother reported her missing at 10:50 p.m. And as the hours drag by with no sign of her, the girl’s family fears she may have been taken by a stranger.

Search teams have been out looking for the girl, using bloodhounds. Sheriff’s deputies, meanwhile, are calling people who live in the neighborhood and also are going door to door to see if anyone heard or saw anything. Other searchers are combing the nearby woods on ATVs. Everyone is anxious for any sign of the missing girl. She was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

The girl’s disappearance has shocked many residents of McCleary, population 1,550, where the biggest employer is a lumber mill that manufactures doors and people know their neighbors.

Lindsey’s mother admits the 10-year old had been fighting with her brother in the moments before she was last seen, and that Lindsey is still upset about her parent’s recent divorce. But with every passing hour, there are mounting worries that the friendly girl who will talk with anybody is in serious trouble.

Baum called her daughter a “mama’s girl,” and said the two were re-reading the Harry Potter books aloud to prepare for the upcoming movie. Lindsey wanted to have her friend over to read with them, and left while it was still light out.

Chief George Crumb of the McCleary Police Department said friends and family are assisting the search, and that while his department hopes Baum just ran off on her own, “she’s been gone far too long.” “If anyone does have her, bring her back home or take her to a pay phone where she can call home,” Baum said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Grays Harbor 911 center at 800-281-6944.

Cheap Custom Silicone Wristbands

Unlike some other kinds of jewellery, bracelets are incredibly diverse. You can make a bracelet from almost any material you can think of, whether it’s metal, fabric, leather, glass, wire or plastic, or natural materials like shells and stones. Bracelets are both cheap to buy and easy to make, so it’s easy to personalise them to your taste and give them as gifts to your friends. Many people cherish bracelets that they have been given, especially little girls, who will collect friendship bracelets to represent each one of their friends.

If you want to make a bracelet yourself, the easiest way to do it is probably to get some beads and a piece of string. Threads woven together can also work well, as can shells if you make tiny holes in them to thread a string through. The best thing to do is to keep the bracelet as a flat string, and then tie it around the hand of the person you’re giving it to so that it fits well.

Another interesting use of bracelets, only invented quite recently, is the charity bracelet. These are usually made from silicone, and bear a slogan such as ‘make poverty history’ or ‘help the aged’. The idea is that if you see someone wearing one, you are likely to mention it, and then they will tell you a little about the cause and why it matters to them – a good way of getting people to talk about charities they care about.

In some parts of the world, bracelets have special meanings. In India, for example, they are often made from glass, and make a musical-sounding noise when the arm is moved. In Latin America, it is believed that bracelets made from gold and coral can scare away evil spirits, protecting the wearer from the jealousy of others.

Missing ferry passenger found unharmed

A Spokane woman who went missing from a Washington State Ferry on Monday was found unharmed early today oustide a store in Lake Forest Park, a suburb north of Seattle.

Lake Forest Police Sgt. Jason Becker found Amy Story about 12:30 a.m. — tired, but apparently uninjured and sitting outside of the Lake Forest Park Market on Ballinger Way Northeast, police said.

Story told Becker "her car had been stolen off a ferry recently," Lake Forest Police Chief Dennis Peterson said today.

"The woman verbally identified herself as Amy Story, and Sgt. Becker determined she was the person missing from the Washington State Ferry Tacoma since Monday the 21st," Peterson said.

Story has been reunited with her family, who are staying at a local hotel, Peterson added.

"There was no hospitilization involved," he said.

Authorities have been searching for Story, 27, whose parents say she suffers from bipolar disorder, since her car was found abandoned on the ferry after it arrived at Colman Dock in downtown Seattle from Bainbridge Island on 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Story's mother, Linda Myers, told The Seattle Times on Tuesday that her daughter, who had been visiting her grandfather in Sequim over Father's Day weekend, was not taking her medication. Story likely was wandering around incoherently, Myers added.

On Tuesday, State investigators released photographs taken from security video footage that had captured Story in the lobby of an Aurora Avenue motel, and later, near Denny Park in Seattle, as recently as 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Searchers find body of missing boater

Three men and a woman rented a boat and went out Wednesday afternoon on Newnan's Lake. After an hour or so on the water, just three of them returned.
Kate's Fish Camp owner Mike Carter said they sped back up the canal to the camp around 6 p.m. and left in a hurry.

At 7:07 p.m., one of them called the Sheriff's Office to report that Ollen James Rogers, 53, a homeless man living in Gainesville, had leaped from the boat near Palm Point Park and was still missing.

Nineteen hours later, a wildlife officer found Rogers' body on the lake near Palm Point.

An Alachua County Sheriff's Office dive team and a crew from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission had spent hours looking for Rogers, who reportedly jumped out of the boat, apparently to swim to shore, sometime between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The four people, who authorities said had been drinking, rented a 13-foot aluminum boat with a V-shaped hull and 7 1/2-horsepower Evinrude motor from the fish camp and went out looking for alligators, according to the Sheriff's Office.

At some point during the trip, an argument ensued, Carter said one of the men told him. Somewhere near Palm Point Park, the sheriff's report said, the missing man jumped out and disappeared.

"They said they had been drinking all day," sheriff's spokesman Art Forgey said Thursday morning. Forgey said the boaters had changed their stories several times.

Citing the ongoing investigation, the Sheriff's Office did not immediately name the other people involved.

Carter said one of the men -- a former bar patron when Kate's was a bar -- had rented the boat for a couple of hours. Carter said the people weren't drinking when they got into the boat, but that they did carry a cooler on board.

Afterward, when the Sheriff's Office took the boat as evidence, there were two or three beer cans in it, Carter said. He noted that all four life-preservers were still aboard.

After the boat returned, Carter said, two other fishermen complained about the boat racing past theirs in the canal. He said the person who rented the boat told him he had only $12 and could not pay the $20 charge for the boat.

So, Carter said, they didn't pay for the rental.

"When they came back, they all were gone, and he stopped to talk to me," Carter said. "The guy did say they had an argument" and that the other man had jumped in the water to swim ashore at Palm Point.

The search for Rogers began on Wednesday evening, when deputies searched the shoreline of the 6,400-acre lake by boat and by helicopter.

At 6:45 a.m. Thursday, the Sheriff's Office Marine Underwater Recovery Team was at the lake to begin its search, with help from an FWC crew. The Sheriff's Office helicopter also searched the lake Thursday morning.

Shortly before noon, three men with the sheriff's dive team could be seen combing the cypress-lined edge of Newnan's Lake at Palm Point Park. Nearby, other people -- in boats and along the shore -- continued their fishing in the 87-degree heat.

The search area was extended from Earl P. Powers Park on Hawthorne Road to the end of East University Avenue, Forgey said.

"We were looking in the general vicinity of Palm Point," said FWC Officer John Duncan, who actually discovered the body. "And we found him probably about 500 to 600 yards south of that and about 250 yards off the bank. ... I saw the body floating in the water."

Sgt. Todd Jackson, assistant commander of the Sheriff's Office dive team, said the search "was interrupted by the body actually surfacing and being located. We were able to get the body recovered and on the boat without actually having to locate it underwater."

Officials brought the body to the Winston boat ramp, at Owen Illinois Park, where it was examined by officials with the Medical Examiner's Office and taken away in a van.

Sheriff's Lt. Steve Maynard said there were no obvious signs of trauma to the body.

As part of the death investigation, Maynard said detectives will conduct thorough interviews with all known eyewitnesses, and the department would like to hear from anyone else who might have witnessed the incident.

Investigators will put that together with findings from the Medical Examiner's Office.

"It'll paint us a pretty good picture," Maynard said, "of what actually happened or what didn't occur."

Kent Vann, executive director of the St. Francis House, said Rogers had been coming to the facility for several years to use its daytime services in which food and a shower are provided. Rogers was homeless and used a mailing address set up by the St. Francis House for homeless people, the same address provided by the Sheriff's Office as Rogers' listed address.

"He would come up and get services from us," Vann said. "A really likable fellow. Nice. He was really respectful."

The silicone bracelets to raise awareness

It seems what everyone thought would be a fad, is here to stay. Silicone wristbands first burst onto the scene in 2004 with the most notable brand being cyclist and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong’s yellow Livestrong gel wristband. What started out as a fundraising and awareness campaign quickly became a fashion accessory. Since then, rubber wristbands have been used by nearly every charity, or cause in North America to create awareness, and follow the trend. The durable, waterproof material makes these wristbands a favorite for all ages and event types.

Cost-effective gel wristbands are still one of the most popular products for many wristband companies. The most successful wristband companies have been producing a unique silicone-type wristband, (EVO wristbands) which are the most popular silicone choice because they are made with 100% North American materials, are recyclable, hypo-allergenic (latex-free), and are produced entirely with lead-free products and inks.

Although silicone wristbands were initially used for cause marketing and to create awareness, they are now popular as school fundraisers, and for fans to support their favorite sports team or athlete. Anyone that wants to promote something has recognized this “in your face” advertising tool. Sports venues, concert tours and major events are using rubber wristbands to promote themselves, and their sponsors. Silicone wristbands serve as a great identification solution during the event, and are often kept afterwards by attendees as keepsakes – such an incredible advertisement opportunity.

And so, what most thought would disappear as quickly as it popped up, silicone wristbands have remained strong in the market, and are still one of the most effective fundraising tools for organizations of all sizes. The ability to completely customize their color, scent, text and logo keeps these marketing tools relevant and fresh.

RED RIBBON WEEK WRISTBANDS – COMPANIES SHOW THEIR SUPPORT BY OFFERING AWARENESS PRODUCTS

As the largest, most public annual awareness campaign in the United States, coordinating for this year’s Red Ribbon Week has already begun across the nation. Parents, teachers and volunteers responsible for organizing Red Ribbon fundraisers and awareness events are once again looking for new and exciting ways to promote the prevention of drugs, alcohol and tobacco use. Kicking off yearly during the last week of October, the campaign is intended to create awareness for youth, and start their school year off setting a good example, and encouraging a positive, drug-free upcoming school year.

Companies across the country that support Red Ribbon Week are also doing their part to create awareness. Whether sponsoring schools directly or creating products like awareness wristbands, Red Ribbon is being recognized regularly as an important campaign for America’s youth.

North American companies have recognized the campaign and its importance, and some wristband companies have entire wristband awareness collections geared towards Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week wristbands are intended to serve as a reminder of personal commitment to stay drug-free, as well as to help facilitate discussion and further awareness on the topic. Red Ribbon awareness products include the national phenomenon of silicone bracelets, plastic and “sparkle” wristbands, as well as customized key tags, photographic wristbands, and 3D lenticular awareness cards. These products can also be 100% customized to include school information and campaign dates, or most can be purchased in stock patterns that state mottos such as “I Pledge To Be Drug Free” and “Substance Free Is The Way To Be”. Promotional products like these are extremely cost-effective to accommodate for school budgets and non-profit youth organizations, and most companies produce products that meet all FDA and CPSIA lead-free specifications (always ask the manufacturer to provide proof that their production materials meet these requirements).

The most common challenge for Red Ribbon coordinators and volunteers, is finding a way for their campaign to be memorable, and meaningful. Keeping the campaign age appropriate across the board can be difficult with a topic like drugs and alcohol, so finding methods that will stand out, without shocking youth, is key to a successful week. Using Red Ribbon wristbands and promotional print products are a highly effective way to accomplish this.

Schools, businesses, religious groups, families, media and community alliances all come together, each October, to encourage and celebrate healthy drug-free lifestyles. Manufacturing companies like are doing their portion to create awareness, and offer products that will educate youth, and help volunteers and coordinators deliver such an important program on anti-drug awareness to kids in America.

Two year old Jada Justice is missing from Gary, Indiana. She was last seen June 12, by Eugelica Castillo, who had been babysitting her cousin. Castillo told police she left Jada in her car while she went inside a gas station to buy a gallon of milk and the toddler was gone when she returned.

The FBI has joined the police in the search.

Gary police have questioned the account given by Castillo, who had been taking care of Jada since June 8 while the child’s 27-year-old mother Melissa Swiontek was on a trip. White said Castillo and her live-in boyfriend, Timothy Tkachik, 24, have not been cooperative.

Jada Justice was last seen about 9:40 p.m. on June 16, when her 18-year-old babysitter and cousin stopped at a Gary, Indiana, convenience store to buy milk and cigarettes. Jada’s mother, Melissa Swiontek, said Tuesday she and Jada’s father had taken polygraph tests in the case. The two get along well, she said, and Jada’s father has regular visitation with her.

Castillo had not taken a polygraph test as of Tuesday, Swiontek said. Asked whether authorities had requested that Castillo take a polygraph, Swiontek said. Swiontek said Jada had never opened a car door and Swiontek said she didn’t believe Jada could have opened the door of Castillo’s car, which Nancy Grace stated was a 1991 caddilac.

Jada is described as an African-American child about 2 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 35 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and a light brown complexion. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing an orange skirt, a white tank top with orange and green stripes, white sandals and purple underwear, the FBI said.

Bracelet

A bracelet is an article of clothing or cheap tiffany jewelry, which is worn around the wrist. Bracelets can be manufactured from cloth or metal, and sometimes contain rocks, wood, and/or shells. Bracelets are also used for medical and identification purposes such as allergy bracelets and hospital tags. In the late 1980s, "snap bracelets", felt-covered metal bracelets that curved around one's wrist when gently hit against it, were a popular fad.

Nike and Lance Armstrong popularized the recent use of colored silicone rubber as a material for producing sports tiffany bracelets through the Yellow Livestrong band. Its success has led to the use of these 'awareness' bracelets as low cost tools for information campaigns and charity projects. These sports bracelets are also known otherwise as 'baller id bands', 'wristbands' or 'baller bands'.

The in-line thin diamond bracelet that features a symmetrical pattern of diamonds is called a tennis bracelet. According to Diamond Bug, in 1987 Chris Evert, the former World No. 1 woman tennis player and the winner of 18 Grand Slam singles titles, was playing in the U.S. Open. She was wearing an elegant, light in-line diamond bracelet, which accidentally broke and the match was interrupted to allow Chris to recover her precious diamonds. The 'tennis bracelet' incident sparked a new name for the item and sparked a huge tiffany jewelry trend. Tennis bracelets continued to be worn by various tennis stars like Serena Williams and Gabriela Sabatini.

Although the term 'armlet' may be technically similar, it is taken to mean an item that sits on the upper arm. The origin of the term 'bracelet' is from the Latin 'brachile' meaning 'of the arm', via the Old French 'barcel'. Taken in the plural, bracelets is often use as slang for handcuffs.

Wristbands
Wristbands are encircling strips worn on the wrist, made of any of a variety of materials depending on the purpose. The term can be used to refer to the bracelet-like band of a wristwatch, to the cuff or other part of a sleeve that covers the wrist, or to decorative or functional bands worn on the wrist for other reasons.

One common type of wristband is the loops of plastic or tyvek that are placed around the wrist for identification purposes (demonstrating the wearer's authorization to be at a venue, for example).

Silicone wristbands
More recently, wristbands, often made of silicone, are worn to demonstrate the wearer's support of a cause or charitable organization, similar to awareness ribbons. Such wristbands are sometimes called symbands to distinguish them from other types of wristbands.

One of the first charitable organizations to make use of silicone wristbands as a way of demonstrating support for a cause was the yellow Livestrong wristband created in 2004 by the Lance Armstrong Foundation. By early 2005, symbands became popular with many charities, such as Make Poverty History and the BBC's Beat Bullying campaign.

There is also another type of Wristband called Web band. It is an online version of the real wristband.

Bracelets are an article of clothing or of jewelry which are worn around one’s wrist. Often times bracelets are made from cloth or metal, and sometimes even of rocks, wood, and even precious materials. Almost everyone will have worn a bracelet at some time in their life.

Often times we even wear bracelets without even thinking about it. An easy example of this is a for medical and identification purposes, such as name tags, and health conditions in a hospital. One of the first major fads of braclets to move through was in the 1980’s, with ’snap bracelets’. Snap bracelets were metal bracelts that were covered with felt, or another soft material. Their shape was such that it could hold either a straight position, or be ’snapped’, to wrap around one’s wrist.

Presently we are going through another fad which is that of silicone rubber bracelets which normally have some type of writing on them to symbolize or support something. These bracelets were popularized by Nike and Lance Armstrong through the yellow Livestrong bracelet, which is Lance Armstrong’s charitable organization for Cancer research/awareness. These rubber bracelets are also commonly known as ‘wristbands’, ‘baller bands’ or ‘baller id bands’.

Not always true, but as in the example above bracelets are often times symbolic of something. Another example of a symbolic use of bracelets, is that with friendship bracelets which are usually self made bracelets given from one friend to another to symbolize their relationship. Bracelts come in all shapes and sizes and can be a very usefull way to remind yourself of something valuable, as your wrist goes everywhere you do.

The number of children missing after running away from home has risen by 10 percent over the past three years, the Missing Children Data Resource Center said yesterday.

Center director Lin Wu-hsiung told a press conference that the percentage of children who went missing after running away from home in the center’s database hit 84.6 percent last year, from 73.7 percent in 2006.

The trend was also evident in figures released by the National Police Agency, which showed that 8,210, or 72.4 percent, of the 11,337 minors currently listed as missing had run away from home, Lin said.

Among the runaways in the center’s database over the past three years, 57.5 percent were teenagers who had been attending junior high school, Lin said, adding that the majority were 15-year-olds.

Missing children who had been found by the center between 2006 and last year said they had stayed with boyfriends, friends, classmates or Internet friends after running away, Lin said.

More than 60 percent of the children who were found said they had run away from home more than twice, Lin said, adding that they left home a second or third time because the communication barrier between them and their family members had remained unchanged.

“Many said they left home on impulse, but later realized that running away was not as much fun as they imagined it would be,” Lin said.

Ministry of the Interior Children’s Bureau secretary-general Chen Kun-huang urged parents to enhance communication with their children by listening, understanding and appreciating children’s needs and spending more time with them.

Sisters, ages 7 and 6, thought taken by father in custody dispute

SPRINGFIELD — Police are searching for two children allegedly abducted by their father, officials announced Tuesday, June 23.

Tiffany Arnett, 7, and Shirley Arnett, 6, were declared missing Thursday, June 18, said Sgt. Jeffrey Flores, Springfield Police Division.

Their father, Everett E. Arnett Jr., allegedly took the girls after their mother, who lives in Georgia, was granted custody last week.
Police don’t believe the children are in danger and aren’t issuing an Amber Alert at this time, Flores said.

“There is no history of violence toward the kids,” he said.

Officials with the Clark County Department of Job and Family Services reportedly arrived at 950 Avondale Ave. last week to take custody of the children, according to a police report.

Arnett ordered them off the property, and when officials returned with police, Arnett was gone and apparently had taken the children with him, Flores said.

Both girls were last seen wearing pink shorts and pink shirts, according to the report.

Material of Silicone Wristbands

Silicone bracelets have become quite a craze nowadays as a promotion or charity tool; fashion accessory or party gifts etc. people from all age groups are seen wearing a silicone bracelet with a message or design showcasing some cause or particular event.

But what are these silicone bracelets or wristbands really made of? These bracelets are made from 100 percent silicone.

Silicone is a man made industrial polymer from the silicon which is an element discovered by Jons Jacob Bezelins in 1824(makes up 25% of the earth’s crust by weight).

So, the manufacturers prefer to use silicone over other materials like leather or metal which are much more expensive and are not as durable and resistant to water/heat etc. like silicone is.

The various characteristics which make it a good product to make accessories like silicone wristbands or bracelets are listed below:

Durable: Silicone is a very tough and durable material. It is heat resistant, scratch resistant and if it’s of good quality will retain their original shape even if they are stored for quite some time.

Waterproof: Silicone is used for waterproofing the various items around our house like windows etc. So, using silicone to make the bracelets will make them water resistant and if the messages are actually engrave/ debossed then the message or the design will be retained in water for long and will not fade off.

Flexible: The elasticity of the silicone material is good .This means that the silicone bracelets won’t easily snap-off. People don’t want their silicone bracelets where they place either their names, or other messages for a cause to break off that easily. Normal silicone bracelets are elastic like rubber due to which they are also known as rubber bracelets. But the bracelets which are not elastic and easily snap off are of poor quality and these are the “factory cuts” on the bracelet, due to which they snap off when the silicone bracelet is stretched.

Smooth Texture: The surface of the wristbands made from silicone is smooth to the touch making it very comfortable to wear. Some bracelets have poor quality texture i.e. the surface of the bracelet is either too sticky or the texture is too rough or maybe some lumps etc.We should ensure that the texture of the silicone bracelet is smooth by using good quality of silicone.

Stable Material: Silicone does not react or melt if its colored or certain customizations are done on it. Hence it’s quite an inert material making it quite safe and open to experimentation by the manufacturers to come up with more and more unique and innovative silicone wristbands or bracelets.

S.C. Governor Missing

South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford has been "missing" since Thursday, reports now confirm.

Security officials report that Sanford hasn't been seen since he left the governor's mansion Thursday in a state-owned SUV, so, even though no one is coming out and saying it, he's also a car thief.

Sanford's wife, Jenny, told reporters she has no idea where he is, but that he "needed time away from their children to write something." Judging by Sanford's odd history with words that could take a long, long time (see video at the end of this post).

His office insists that they've been in touch with him and reports that he's "just fine," he just needed a little time to unwind after the stressful battle over whether the state would accept stimulus funds. When asked about the sudden disappearance and what that might mean for a potential run for president in 2012, an aide said, "This is exactly what you want in a leader. A little pressure and -- whooosh! -- he vanishes."

Meanwhile, with the Governor nowhere to be found, and no one running the state, residents of South Carolina report "no discernible difference."

Cancer Awareness Bracelets

Many people suffer from diseases and cancers that currently do not have a cure. Many of us are unaware of the difficult circumstances these people must suffer everyday of their lives. Unfortunately, there isn’t enough funding donated to research programs to maintain the level of scientific study that needs to go into finding cures for these diseases. It is necessary to keep the public and the politicians aware of how strapped for cash these research projects are these days.

Cancer research projects need the help of the public to keep theses causes central in people’s minds especially the governments that tend to give funding to the noisiest special interest groups. Additionally, if we don’t have someone close to us that is affected by one of these dreadful diseases, it is easy to forget how others may be suffering. If we don’t have a personal connection to a disease we can continue on with our lives without giving it another thought, sad but true.

Fortunately, there are organizations that try to maintain public awareness of the needs of cancer research projects. These organizations use many different methods to get the word out to the public and government officials. A few which you may be aware are television commercials, print ads, celebrity endorsements, public rallies, and fundraising campaigns and events.

One popular method used is cancer awareness bracelets. The bracelets are used as reminders of the need to support funding and research for various research projects. They also act as a reminder for people to donate some of their time and money to the cause.

Cancer awareness bracelets come in many colors and support various cancer treatments and research. I’m sure you can recall seeing someone wearing those pink rubber breast cancer bracelets. The breast cancer awareness bracelets were made of silicone rubber and had “Hope Faith Love” printed or embossed on the bracelet.

Another well known use of the cancer awareness bracelet was the yellow “Live Strong” bracelet popularized by Lance Armstrong. In fact, he is considered the originator of the silicone rubber awareness bracelets trend.

The cancer awareness bracelets not only keep awareness alive but are also used to raise money to support the cause. The silicone rubber bracelets are inexpensive to manufacture and give cancer organizations a reasonable profit margin to make money off of each bracelet they sell.

Whether your organization sells the bracelets or gives them away, more people could be wearing them and keeping their thoughts, hopes, prayers, and support alive for those that truly need it.

ELIZABETHTOWN - Police are searching for two toddler girls

Police are searching for two toddler girls a state trooper says were unlawfully removed from an Elizabethtown home.

According to Kentucky State Police Post 4 spokesman Steve Pavey, the mother, two adult accomplices and a juvenile collaborated in distracting the father's fiancé, who was watching the children Thursday while the father was away from the home.

With the fiancé distracted by conversation with an accomplice, Pavey said the mother removed the 2- and 3-year-old girls from the father’s
Meadowview Drive home.

The woman accused of distracting the fiancé during the kidnapping, 38-year-old Elizabethtown resident Laura E. Heathcock, was arrested Thursday on a kidnapping charge.

Pavey said the investigating trooper is seeking an arrest warrant for 19-year-old John Varble, who is believed to be a second adult accomplice.

Unlike the felony kidnapping charge facing accomplices, Pavey said the mother, 21-year-old Brittany Muss, likely will avoid felony prosecution.

”She’ll probably only be charged with custodial interference,” Pavey said.

Pavey was unsure if the father had full or joint custody of the children, but said the little girls “live with the father.”

Custodial interference is a misdemeanor, punishable by no more than 12 months jail time.

Felony kidnapping — a Class B felony — carries a maximum sentence of 20 years imprisonment.

Kidnapping can be a Class A felony if the victim is not returned alive.

Police say the children are likely with Muss who may be driving a silver 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier bearing the Kentucky license plate 749HRW. Pavey said investigators have no reason to believe the children are in danger. No Amber Alerts have been issued.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Kentucky State Police at (270) 766-5078 or (800) 222-5555.

Missing Tacoma child found

Tacoma Police are looking for a child who has been missing since about 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police spokesman Mark Fulghum said a woman and her two children drove to the Home Depot on Tacoma Mall Boulevard. The mom went in, leaving her 14-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son in the car. The two got into an argument, and the 10-year-old walked off.

The daughter told her mother, and the two looked in the area and couldn't find the child. They called the police, who have been searching the area.

Fulghum said a neighbor told officers that she saw a boy matching the missing child's general description walking with an adult a few blocks from the store near South 64th Street and Wapato Street.

He is described as a 4-foot tall black male, wearing a red shirt, jeans and black and white shoes. Anyone with information should contact Tacoma Police.

missing child has been found safe, Fulghum said. It appears he just wandered off.

Pierce Transit supervisor found the boy and took him to an off-duty officer. The officials "put two and two together" and discovered he was the missing boy.

The boy was reunited with his family.

"He just got mad and wandered off," Fulghum said.

I want to look not old

Last month I attended a fund raising event at Blossom Birth, a little resource center that helps men and women transition into parenthood. The event was all about pampering moms and moms-to-be with mini spa services like aromatherapy, massage, and make-up. Having not slept for longer than 3 or so hours at a time for nearly a year, I needed a lot more than pampering. But it was a start. I signed up for as many services as I could get.

I want to look not old, I said to the pretty girl at the make-up table. She wore purple eye shadows of different shades from the bottom of her eyelids all the way to her brows. She was maybe 20-years-old. She had bright brown eyes and shiny dark hair. Her skin was flawless. She had on a little black outfit with difficult stilettos. She sort of tottered and shuffled around, unable to walk from heel to toe.

She half-laughed at my request, uneasy with what I had tasked her with. I imagined she thought something like, lady, there’s nothing I can do about your being old.

Instead of addressing my needs head-on, she apparently fell back on her trusty color scheme and asked, How do you feel about purple?

I feel fine about it, I replied. Why not? I thought. It might make me look not old.

Pretty in Purple went to work on me. Eye liner. Shadow. More shadow. More shadow. And ten minutes later, voila! She gave me the mirror.

Here’s the sad truth, I really had expected some sort of change. A mask to hide my mama fatigue, my years in the sun without sunscreen, and my serious caffeine consumption. Instead it looked like my eyes were afraid of the rest of my face and were trying to take flight. I had distinct, groovy purple wings swooshing out from my eyelids.

It looks pretty, Purple said.

Mmmmm, I nodded politely. I looked ridiculous, but I thanked her anyway. In her own way, she had done what I had asked her to do. I definitely looked too weird to look old.

Afterwards, my weird, winged-eyes and I mingled among the other mamas. No one said anything about my daring new make-up. I didn't know whether they were quiet out of kindness or horror, but I no longer cared about what they might think. I was feeling grateful for the chance to feel good and different. I had an artist paint a mendhi flower on my hand. I sipped too much coffee. I ate one of those monster chocolate chip cookies. I visited with old friends and met some new ones. I had a great time.

By the end of the afternoon, I was relaxed and happy. It felt so good to care for myself. As silly as it sounds, the purple wings around my eyes somehow lifted my spirit, even if they had not turned back the clock.

Charities’ A-list events still a draw

Whether it’s a gala to support the Milwaukee Ballet or the Milwaukee County Zoo, Milwaukee’s nonprofit community is still drawing crowds to A-list charity events.

But there’s no question that the recession has patrons cutting back. Sponsors who previously spent tens of thousands on multiple tables at such events are now buying just one, and attendees are limiting annual donations.

Still, representatives of the city’s nonprofits say they’ve been pleased with the turnout at their big events so far in 2009, despite the worst economic downturn in decades.

“The economy had, and still has, our undivided attention through all operations,” said Robert Davis, chief executive officer and president of the Zoological Society of Milwaukee. “Still, we’re anticipating (our) Zoo Ball will be a wonderful affair. While our numbers might be slightly less this year, we’re still on target for a successful event.”

When the ball is over on June 27, Davis hopes to net $400,000 for the Milwaukee County Zoo. The ball, at which tickets range from $300 per person to $7,500 for a table of 10, is the Zoo’s biggest fundraiser.

Even if Davis is right and the Zoo Ball nets $400,000, it still would be $100,000 less than in 2008, the most successful in the society’s 25-year history.

The Zoological Society searched aggressively for sponsors this year, adding U.S. Cellular to the list which brought in close to $50,000, Davis said. That effort will help offset a decline in attendance.

“We’ve been fortunate that our challenges are not as steep as our counterparts in the nonprofit world,” Davis said.
Cut the budget

The Milwaukee Ballet held its annual ball Feb. 28, bringing in $104,312, a 10 percent increase over 2008.

The increase came in large part by slicing about $10,000 from the ball budget.

At the same time, many donors chose to make the ball their “gift” for the year, rather than attending the event and giving a larger donation later, said Carolyn Muckelberg, the Ballet’s annual campaign and grants manager.

The ball and other special events throughout the year represent about 5 percent of the Ballet’s overall budget. Muckelberg is also charged with adding new donors, which hasn’t been easy this year.

Usually the Ballet can get 150 new donors a year. Currently, the number stands at about 60 to 75 new donors.

“Hopefully we’ll make up for it in other areas,” she said. “Right now it’s all about donor retention.”

Deborah Fugenschuh, president of the Donors Forum of Wisconsin, anticipates attendance at many charity events will be lower this year, although most of these events don’t make or break an organization’s year.

Smaller organizations with a tight bond with their donors will fare better, Fugenschuh said.

That was the case at Hope House, an emergency and transitional living center in Milwaukee, which held a $91-per-plate dinner May 28.

Hope House raised $35,000, which was $15,000 less than the goal but still “as good as could possibly be expected,” said Ken Schmidt, executive director. About 40 percent of the Hope House budget comes from fundraising.

“Before the year started, I cut $100,000 out of my budget, which was probably a smart thing to do,” Schmidt said. “I think a lot of folks who didn’t take these steps could be in for some real trouble the second half of the year.”

Many nonprofits have been forced to cut their budgets or take steps to cut costs of the actual events themselves.

Real Silicone Wristbands

There is much information about silicone wristbands that you can find on the internet. However, it is important to know the material used to manufacture the original silicone bracelets. Note that a real silicone band is made of 100% silicon. Some people are not aware of that or they simply take the physical characteristics of the product for granted. In many cases, what customers get from companies are rubbber bracelets that are not made of 100% silicone material.

The main point here is to discern the origin of the product and its special characteristics. Take time to learn more about the quality of silicone bracelets. You can visit many web sites that offer you high quality silicone wristbands at reasonable prices. Ask for special discounts for wholesalers and shipping fees. There are many technical descriptions and videos online so that you can have a clear idea of the product you are going to order.

Moreover, silicone bracelets are the perfect way to advertise your business or foundation. A true silicone bracelet never loses its flexibility; it never loses its shape and color. In this way, the silicone bracelets can be long-term benefits for customers and manufacturer by the way that many people wear them for a long time.

High-quality silicone bracelets are the best option, especially if you want to give out a good accessory to the general public. Do not be fooled by some companies that offer you wristbands at very low prices, in all likelihood, they are offering you wristbands of poor quality. This sense, bracelets should be as strong and professional as the services or the message being promoted by the company or foundation.

The texture of a real silicone bracelet is very smooth and soft. A rustic and messy bracelet might suggest a deficit in its components. The original bracelet is always flexible and strong so that they rarely break or lose its original color.

A good company should offer you all shades and shapes to personalize your own wristbands. While slogans and the logos can be included on any wristband, there are always the exact designs that best meet your needs.

For further information on materials and shipping, you can ask the manufacturer for a detailed description of the product and pricing. Given this, you shall not be surprised by additional costs or characteristics of the final product.

Mother Arrested: Felony Expoitation of her Children

A mother of four young children in Maine was charged Monday with gross sexual assault after British investigators more than 3,000 miles away used the Internet to allegedly catch her in the act of Webcasting a sexual assault of her young child.

Julie M. Carr, 30, of Mars Hill, Maine, was arrested at about 11 p.m. Friday. Her four children — believed to range from 18 months to 5 years old — were taken into protective custody.

The Child Exploitation Investigation Team of England's West Midlands Police said their unit received information late Thursday that a local man was using the Internet to show inappropriate material of children. An unidentified 18-year-old man was later arrested in Walsall, England.

A day later, on Friday, additional information was obtained by investigators, prompting the West Midland Police to contact officials at the Child Exploitation Online Protection and the U.S. Embassy. "Our officers worked through the night on Thursday and Friday to ensure the identification and safety of these children across the other side of the world," West Midlands Police Detective Chief Inspector Dave McCrone said in a statement obtained by FOXNews.com. "Many people use the Internet safely and securely; however, there are a small minority who choose to use it to commit criminality."

"We work to make people safer, sooner. The very same technology used to commit the crime enables us to work quickly to protect those who may be vulnerable."

Carr, who is being held on $50,000 bail on charges of gross sexual assault and felony exploitation of a child, was arraigned by videoconference before a judge on Monday. She did not enter a plea, Maine State Police Det. Sgt. John Cote told FOXNews.com. Cote declined to identify the victim seen during the assault but said one recording was taken as recently as Wednesday.

Cote said it was impossible to immediately determine how many individuals viewed the material allegedly posted by Carr. He declined to discuss statements Carr may have given to investigators, but said "this type of crime" is increasingly common.

"It's just continuing a trend that we're seeing — an increase in this type of crime," he said. "But as technology gets better, more units are dedicating more agents to this type of crime and are just getting better at it. It lends itself really to the prevelance of computers in our society."
Cote, in a release issued on Saturday, said investigators were able to confirm that the woman seen in the video was Carr, and a search warrant was then secured for her home.

Attorney Jeffrey Pickering, who represented Carr during Monday's arraignment, could not immediately be reached for comment. If convicted, Carr faces up to 20 years in prison for each charge.

Wristbands Throughout the History

While todays trend of wearing rubber wristbands is certainly a relatively recent development in the course of human history, the practice of wearing a band on ones wrist as a symbolic gesture is not a new concept. The bracelets worn in ancient Roman, Chinese, and Indian cultures, however, had quite different meanings than the rubber bracelets people wear today in an effort to express their support of a variety of social and political causes, including disease awareness, prevention, and eradication, as well as acknowledging a societal need to eliminate violence and poverty.

The allure of these simple, inexpensive bracelets has crossed class divides. Whether it is on the wrists of movie stars or military personnel, famous athletes or future presidents, these wristbands are being seen worldwide. In a gesture to honor the men and women who died fighting in the Iraq War, Barack Obama donned a black (albeit metal) wristband in his successful
2008 bid for the US presidency.

In the early 2000s, the color of a rubber wristband signified ones allegiance to a certain cause or belief:

The purple wristband denoted solidarity in the fight to eliminate domestic violence.
Pink wristbands signified the desire to eradicate breast cancer, and

The bright yellow wristband worn by those supporting world-champion cyclist Lance Armstrong in his 2004 Livestrong campaign against cancer have been among the most popular.

These wristbands are not particularly difficult to find or acquire as they are widely available, and at a minimal cost of one (US) dollar, on average.

In fact, students at Bellflower High School in Bellflower, California took wristbands for charity to another level. This semester they began making bracelets by stringing together colorful beads, to sell for $1 apiece. The students plan to donate the money earned to disadvantaged children in modern India, in need of surgery to repair cleft palates. On one recent afternoon, dedicated teens raised over $100 for the “Smile Train” organization by making and selling beaded wristbands.

Though todays wristbands are a means to deal with some very serious causes, they are usually worn quite casually. This was not the case in ancient Rome, China, and India where these bracelets were taken more seriously.

In Greek culture, women would adorn their arms above and below the elbow with wrappings of gold or silver, perfect accents to their flowing gowns and elaborate hairstyles. Often these bracelets would be detailed with animals such as lions or snakes to ward off evil spirits. Conversely, Greek men wore metal or thick leather cuffs along the forearms to protect their arms during deadly fights on the battlefields.

For instance, in ancient China, kings and aristocrats wore bracelets with detailed designs including dragons and phoenixes as well as incorporating various metals with precious stones as a display of wealth and power. Bracelets were as much a part of an ancient Chinese kings attire as his silk robes and head coverings.

And lastly, in a tradition still existing today not unlike a Westerners wedding ring, gold bangles were worn as one of the signs of a womans marital status in ancient India. The value and number of bangles a woman wore were a direct reflection of her husbands prominence and wealth.

The Versatile Rubber Bracelets

Rubber bracelets have been an instant hit since their first appearance some years ago. The fact that they continue to be very popular among kids, teenagers and adults alike can be credited to a variety of factors. These items have shown to be quite handy, useful and stylish as well and there seems to be no end to all the hype in the years to come.

What's With Rubber Bracelets?

Rubber bracelets are made of 100% rubber. There are also variations of these in silicone and gel form. The pieces have been highly favored because of their simple yet attractive nature. Rubber bracelets are highly versatile and durable. These appear as simple wristbands that completely form a full circle wherein the hand can be fitted through easily for wearing. There are so many colors to choose from as well from solid to swirls and meshes.

Since these are made of rubber, you can wear the bracelets anytime and anywhere. Several athletes, cheerleaders and individuals with active lifestyles have conveniently worn the items without any discomfort. The bands are lightweight weighing only a few hundred grams or less. These are non-toxic too so kids can safely wear them all the time. The bracelets are waterproof, do not tarnish or rust and resistant to dust, heat and moisture. You can expect them to last for several years without losing flexibility and color.

You can find standard rubber bracelets at designated stores, online shops and even athletic clubs. You may be lucky to get one for free by joining special events and programs. The pieces given away in these affairs usually have a slogan, logo or caption indicating the particular cause or movement. Wearing the bracelet shows your concern and helps spread the helpful message to any target party or person.

Customizing Fun

Another popular and easy feature that rubber bracelets have is customization. You get to explore your creativity by choosing the colors you want, imprinting original designs and placing text and logos. These are all perfect as party and event favors, sentimental items and freebies. There are thousands of colors to choose from and so many designs available. Manufacturers will most likely provide you with a catalog of all patterns and prints. You may also submit your own original work to be imprinted on the bracelets. Rubber bracelets have been a favorite item among school teams, public programs and family reunions.

The bracelets are very cheap and easy to manufacture in the thousands, which is a good thing for wholesalers. You can get a standard rubber wristband for as low as $1 and customizations for $.50 apiece. Buying in bulk will depreciate overall expenses and you get to have special discounts and exemptions from sales tax depending on which state you plan to resell.

There is a minimum quantity requirement when buying wholesale but it is a better choice than getting individual pieces. You still have the freedom to customize every single piece as you like without any additional cost as long as you're following manufacturing limits and allotments.

Rubber bracelet manufacturers should provide you with a satisfaction guarantee and replacement warranty for any damaged bracelet. Upon ordering, you may ask for a few sample pieces as well to ensure that you get only the finest quality.
