Sisters, ages 7 and 6, thought taken by father in custody disputeSPRINGFIELD — Police are searching for two children allegedly abducted by their father, officials announced Tuesday, June 23.
Tiffany Arnett, 7, and Shirley Arnett, 6, were declared missing Thursday, June 18, said Sgt. Jeffrey Flores, Springfield Police Division.
Their father, Everett E. Arnett Jr., allegedly took the girls after their mother, who lives in Georgia, was granted custody last week.
Police don’t believe the children are in danger and aren’t issuing an Amber Alert at this time, Flores said.
“There is no history of violence toward the kids,” he said.
Officials with the Clark County Department of Job and Family Services reportedly arrived at 950 Avondale Ave. last week to take custody of the children, according to a police report.
Arnett ordered them off the property, and when officials returned with police, Arnett was gone and apparently had taken the children with him, Flores said.
Both girls were last seen wearing pink shorts and pink shirts, according to the report.
