The alert was initiated when a phone call came in to the Dyer County 911 dispatch office.
The call was made by one of the alleged victims who identified herself as a 13-year-old black female. She said a white male, around 55-years-old, was molesting her and her 10-year-old sister and had kidnapped them.
She also stated the man had them in a burgundy or red Chevy Suburban and was driving them down a two-lane road and all she could see were trees.
The 13-year-old told the dispatcher the man had threatened to kill them if she called police.
The child then called a second time to Dyer County 911 and said she had told the man she had called the police and he had slapped her.
Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Holt said the calls came in at 3:31 and 3:54 p.m.
After the call came in, the information was sent to the TBI who made the decision to issue an AMBER Alert.
The alert stated the vehicle was possibly headed towards Missouri on Interstate 155.
"Pemiscot County, Mo. also received two phone calls," said Holt.
The calls were made from a 911 access only cell phone.
There were no reports from any Tennessee or Missouri law enforcement agency stating they had located the vehicle.
As of 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, Holt said no other reports had come in about any missing children and the alert would remain in place until Thursday morning.
