I wanted to thank all of those who donated and volunteered for the Claudia Rodriguez Fundraiser which was held on Saturday, July 25. Claudia is my 15 year-old neighbor who suffered a brain aneurism in March. The fundraising event was held to raise money for the Rodriguez family for their continued medical expenses.Many local businesses donated items for our raffle: Total Logistic Control, E-Z Air, Play It Again Video, Big R, Bone-ifide Care Inc., The Front Porch, A New U, The Mane Event, Athletic Outfitters, Boombah, The Grundy County Corn Festival Office, The MCHS Booster Club, Aldi’s, Culvers, Wendy’s, The Sweet Tooth, The Morris Bakery and a thank you to the Morris Daily Herald and WCSJ for advertising the fundraising event for us.
I would also like to thank the following people for volunteering and making the fundraising event such a success: Cindie & Jeff Hunt, Jordan & Danielle Cummings, Dennis Sanders, Lori Bonarek, Julie, Dave, and Haley Hanson, Richard Farrell and Jennifer Hock.
Also a thank you for the give away items to Tami Ferguson, Gloria Durkee, Theresa Lamb, Deb Pierce, JoEllyn Johnson, Jim Garling and Mary Reeves.
I’d also like to thank everyone in the community who came out to show your support and care for Claudia and to everyone who was able to donate.
It is random acts of kindness that mean so much as none of us know when we may need it ourselves.
So thank you to all of you. I know the Rodriguez family appreciates it and would ask for continued prayer for Claudia in her recovery.
