DAPPER broadcaster Jonathan Ross has donated a snazzy designer suit to go under the hammer in Derby for a children's charity.

The TV chat show host has handed over a Vivienne Westwood suit worth around £3,000 to Derbyshire police officer Detective Sergeant Gary Lunn.

It will be auctioned at an annual event organised by the officer to help raise funds for police charity Child Victims of Crime. And chart-topping singer Tony Christie, who sang Is This The Way To Amarillo? will again entertain guests at the auction in October.

Det Sgt Lunn was given Jonathan's suit thanks to his brother, who works as a bodyguard to the stars.

And Jonathan has also donated two tickets for the British Comedy Awards and two separate pairs of tickets to one of his live chat shows, during which he interviews A-list celebrities.

Det Sgt Lunn said: "We have got one of the suits and there may be some more to come as well, which is absolutely fantastic.

"Tony Christie is keen to have some involvement and he is coming to sing again, like he did last year. We are also hoping to have a sporting presence, given that the event is being held at Pride Park."

Also to be auctioned off are items of sports memorabilia, including a range of football and rugby shirts. And Derby County has donated match-day tickets.

The event will be held at the Pedigree Suite, at Pride Park Stadium.

Other entertainment includes a professional illusionist and a group of burlesque dancers. Band Indigo Sunset will also perform 1960s pop music.

Det Sgt Lunn said his brother had been Jonathan's bodyguard for several years and had also worked for David and Victoria Beckham, Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Sylvester Stallone, Jude Law and Russell Crowe.

Last year's event, which took place at the Derby Conference Centre, attracted more than 100 guests and around £3,000 was raised for charity.

Det Sgt Lunn, who runs Derbyshire Constabulary's child abuse investigation unit and regularly fund-raises for Child Victims of Crime, said he hoped that this year's event would be even more successful.
